Working Together!

Turtle Trax, the MHA special event in 2006 and 2007, launched our mission into the community as one of the most successful special events Indian River County has ever seen. Not only did the event raise over $700,000, it was a non-threatening vehicle in which to educate the entire community and reduce stigma of mental health.

Why Mental Health Matters to our Community

Access to mental health care in the early stages of a mental health crisis can help prevent or lessen a long-term, chronic mental illness.

There is a shortage of access to early mental health care in our community. Additionally, there is a societal stigma towards mental illness. As a result, mental health problems escalate and people are being cared for in the most costly settings.

Our services reach out to everyone in our community: a spouse fighting depression after losing his job; a boss who is getting a divorce; a sibling suffering from anxiety since the hurricanes; a child fighting substance abuse; a neighbor battling bipolar and schizophrenia, or your parents battling aging.
