Kristine Sarkauskas, President and CEO of the Mental Health Association (MHA) in Indian River County, Inc.(a United Way agency), has announced the appointment of Jeff Sledd as Marketing and Communications Director for the agency.  Sledd is responsible for the promotion of MHA’s programs, services and donation avenues, and will work to help reduce stigma and increase awareness of mental health issues and their treatment.

 

jeff   “We are excited to have Jeff join our organization at this time of positive change” says Ms. Sarkauskas.  “Jeff was instrumental in the design and now will implement our new look, feel, and awareness campaign which includes a new logo, an interactive website, public service announcements for TV and radio and informational brochures. “In addition” Sarkauskas adds, “The MHA will be introducing the slogan, ‘It’s OK to Get Help’ in our broadcast and print public service announcements. The faces of depression are people in history, in the news, our friends, co-workers, and loved ones. We want to send the message that if you have a problem, don’t ignore or shy away from it…It’s Ok to Get Help.”

 

   Before joining MHA, Sledd was the Director of Marketing and Operations for a Marketing company in Brevard County and a Manager of Marketing for a famous national and international audio dealer in Massachusetts.   He holds a certificate in counseling from the University of Arkansas and is the recipient of numerous awards for his organizational and motivational skills.

 

   The Mental Health Association is Indian River County’s only nonprofit resource for immediate access to crisis counseling and mental health services, regardless of an individual’s ability to pay.
