FREE Mood & Anxiety Support Group
Join us for this bimonthly support group facilitated by a clinician about dealing with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety and or panic attacks. We offer this group for adults so they can relate to others who understand and learn skills and strategies to cope with these conditions.
The Mental Health Association is pleased to offer a 6 week course in Mindfulness!
Mindfulness is being fully awake and present from moment to moment in life without striving or judging.
Effectively decrease depression, anxiety, pain and illness-related distress as well as to increase quality of life, sleep and overall functioning.
Increase coping skills to manage stress
The practice of bringing your full attention into anything is mindfulness and is the basis of this course of core mindfulness skills including curiosity, kindness, gratitude and acceptance.
Whole Health Action Management (WHAM)
A weekly 60-minute, 10-week structured group, where you can learn relaxation, stress management, nutrition and other choices for a more positive and healthy lifestyle.

All kids & teens have executive functioning skills thinking and reasoning skills that develop over time. Often struggles with interactions with others or schoolwork are related to an executive functioning skill weakness. Intensive, individualized skill-building coaching sessions provided by our Intervention Specialist, help children & teens ages 4-17 become the achievers that they can be.

Mind Over Mood
Learn skills to reduce depression and anxiety. Anxiety and depression are serious issues and can be worsened by the stressors individuals face daily. If you or someone you care about is suffering from sadness, lowered energy, loss of interest in activities, sleep or appetite problems, decreased concentration, inability to stop or control worrying, trouble relaxing or nervousness, the "Mind Over Mood" lead by mental health professionals offers solutions and skills that can help.
Twelve-Step Facilitation Therapy (TSF)
An Evidence Based Treatment for those dealing with alcohol and drug issues, those in recovery, and those wishing to learn more about themselves and the role substances play in their lives.
A mental health screening, (at no cost for Indian River County residents and for a nominal fee for those out of county), to determine treatment needs and create a care plan for any needed follow-up. The screener can give insight and information into issues and treatment options as well as suggestions to ease symptoms and improve functioning.
Consultation (at no cost for Indian River County residents and for a nominal fee for those out of county) with loved ones or family members concerned about the mental health needs of someone else. (If you come to the Walk-In Center seeking a consultation about someone else and have no need for intervention or help yourself, please inform our receptionist prior to completion of any paperwork so we can serve you correctly).
Urgent mental health care (at no cost for Indian River County residents and for a nominal fee for those out of county) to assist individuals in immediate need of services. These services focus on safety planning and prevention of harm to self or others.
We can also offer referral information about other programs and services.
