The MHA Shakes It Up with New Marketing and Development Teams

Since Dr. Nicholas Coppola, CEO of the MHA in Indian River County, took the helm, there have been some new additions to the MHA’s teams. “I had a vision of what the MHA could be and knew I would need a powerhouse team to do it. My first steps were to promote from within the company, elevating Angela Guzenski to COO and Amy Wagner to Director of Fund Development. From there, I started looking to assemble a fresh, new marketing team.” said Dr. Coppola.

Sheana Firth - Director of Marketing

Sheana Firth, the new Director of Marketing, joined the team in April of 2019. Miss Firth is a Vero Beach native with 15 years of experience in Marketing, Branding, Design and more. As the Principal and Creative Director of Breakaway Graphics, LLC, she has served as VP of Marketing, Marketing Director, Director of Branding and Media Strategist to strategically rebrand, re-message and re-position companies. “I’m excited to help steer creative choices in a way that is true to the MHA’s values. By utilizing thorough analysis, careful success measurement, and top-notch creative marketing and advertising solutions, I plan on accelerating the success of our services more effectively and accurately in a visually appealing and memorable way.” said Sheana. “From ideation, prototyping, proofs of concept and campaign development to go-to-market strategies, advertising initiatives and effectiveness measurement, she has a stellar track record. We are lucky to have Sheana on our team!” said CEO, Dr. Coppola.

Melanie Coppola - Marketing & PR Manager

In addition to Miss Firth, Melanie Coppola joined the team May 2019 as Marketing & PR Manager. Miss Coppola worked at Piper Aircraft in their Marketing Department starting in social media campaign development and market analysis, eventually expanding to client & dealer management and assisting in press efforts. As the CEO of the Live Like Cole Foundation, Miss Coppola has spearheaded efforts in fundraising, marketing and event planning, making her a vital and significant addition to the MHA. “I believe the experience and knowledge I have gained in both the non-profit and private sectors will prove to be invaluable in my new position here. As a young woman struggling with the loss of my brother, I know the importance of mental health not only among adults but teenagers and children as well. My goal is to reach them through social media platforms in order to help break the stigma and get them the help they need.” said Melanie.

Amy Wagner - Director of Fund Development

Amy Wagner relocated from Chicago and joined the MHA two years ago, primarily in a hyper-hybrid marketing, event planning, donor management and fund development role. “I met with Amy when I joined the MHA and was immediately impressed at her capacity and tenaciousness. Wearing that many hats and still doing good work is not easy. That, combined with her impressive experience as National Sales Director with a Unilever Company (TIGI - Bed Head), it was clear to me that I needed to leverage her skills in a more streamlined and effective way. This was the catalyst to expanding the team.” said Dr. Coppola. As the Director of Fund Development, Amy will be the face of the MHA in the community, continuing her role as Event Maven while also serving as the primary force behind sponsor and donor acquisition. “I’m so blessed to be a part of such a special organization and an amazing team. I moved to Vero Beach 3 years ago and fell in love with this town and its close-knit community. I want to use my passion for mental health and my expertise in strategic growth to bring the MHA to a new level and give back to the community that has embraced me.”

Dr. Nick had always planned to merge both the Marketing and Fund Development Departments, who said, “The two departments innately work hand in hand. You could separate them, but a strong company is built by working collectively towards the same goal; the right hand must always know what the left is doing.”
